How Can I Reduce My Web Site Costs?

  • Know your target audience?
  • Are you going to sell items or is the site simply informational?
  • Have a list of Keywords: these are words that people may use to find your site and need to be in the text of the page..
  • Write a description of your site; its purpose, why the site is there or what you offer.
  • Have text for an About Page, Mission Statement or both prepared.
  • Construct a basic "road map" of where you want the site to take viewers.
  • Make a list of other sites of a similar nature and note what you like or dislike about them.
  • Submit all text in electronic form: Word, Note Pad, or PDF formats are best.
  • Submit graphics and photos in their native format. TIF, or uncompressed JPGs are best. If you take photos, send them just as you took the photo. Do not put graphics or photos into a Word or similar document because when they are extracted they can lose a lot of quality.
  • Do you want to include Social Networking; ie. facebook, Twiter, a blog, Google, etc.
  • Good communication between you and the website designer is essential. Get involved! After all, it is your site.
  • Remember: Constantly re-doing and making unnecessary changes is time consuming, costly, and frustrating for everyone. Have a good idea of what you want and what you want to accomplish.
